Richards Layton Director Named Chair of Lex Mundi; World’s Leading Association of Independent Law Firms

WILMINGTON, Delaware – Samuel A. Nolen, a director of Richards, Layton & Finger, was elected Chair of Lex Mundi by the organization’s Board of Directors during the 2007 annual meeting of Lex Mundi in Singapore. Lex Mundi is the world’s leading association of independent law firms, representing over 20,000 attorneys worldwide.
Mr. Nolen, a director of the Delaware law firm since 1986, is a member of the firm’s corporate department. He advises corporations and directors on corporate governance, transactional and control dispute issues. He also represents corporate and individual clients in derivative and class actions, fiduciary responsibility actions and complex cases. Before joining the firm, he served as law clerk in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
He is a member of the Business Law, Litigation and International Sections of the American Bar Association, a member of the Corporate Law Section of the Legal Practice Division of the International Bar Association, and a member of the Council of the Corporation Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association.
He earned a BA cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1976 and a JD from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1979. He is a 1972 graduate of Wilmington Friends School.
