Doneene Damon Elected to the Executive Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association

WILMINGTON, Delaware – Richards, Layton & Finger director Doneene Keemer Damon has been elected to be a member of the Executive Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association. The Executive Committee, which has 25 members, is the top governing body of the DSBA. Damon will serve for a one-year term beginning on July 1, 2009.
“I am excited about the opportunity to work with the DSBA to advance the Delaware bar and Delaware law,” said Damon. “I am looking forward to giving back to my local bar in a meaningful way.”
A member of Richards Layton’s Business Department, Damon focuses primarily on formation and operational issues relating to Delaware statutory trusts in all types of commercial and business transactions, including securitizations, structured finance, investment funds, real estate financings and trust preferred securities transactions. She also represents banks and trust companies in connection with their trust and agency services in various commercial transactions. In addition, Damon represents health-care clients in all types of commercial and transactional matters.
Very active in numerous professional and community organizations, Damon serves on many committees and holds several leadership positions in the state and national bar. She is a frequent lecturer on the advantages of using Delaware statutory trusts in financing transactions. Damon received a JD, cum laude, from Temple University School of Law and a BS, cum laude, from St. Joseph’s University.
