WILMINGTON, Delaware (October 25, 2019) – Richards, Layton & Finger is proud to welcome three judicial law clerks, Valerie Caras, Alexander Krischik, and Andrew Milam, as associates of the firm.

“A judicial clerkship is a terrific preparation for a legal career,” says Doneene Damon, president of Richards Layton. “It offers wonderful training for writing and for oral advocacy, and you can get a sense of what strategies are effective. It also presents a unique opportunity to spend time with those who are arguing and deciding cases, and the firm values that experience greatly because of the know-how it brings to our practice.”

Valerie Caras served as a clerk to the Honorable Matthew W. Brann in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania (2018-2019). She earned a B.A. from Dickinson College and a J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Villanova Law Review. Valerie focuses her practice on commercial and intellectual property litigation in Delaware’s state and federal courts.

Alex Krischik clerked for Vice Chancellor Zurn of the Delaware Court of Chancery (2018-2019). He received a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Tampa and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was an articles editor of the Journal of Law & Politics. Alex litigates corporate and commercial disputes in Delaware’s state and federal courts involving corporate governance, corporate control, fiduciary duties, alternative entities, contractual disputes, and other commercial matters.

Andrew Milam served as a clerk to the Honorable James T. Vaughn, Jr., of the Delaware Supreme Court (2018-2019).
