As awareness of social problems grows, so too does the impetus to find new ways to address them. The traditional models of the for-profit and nonprofit corporation have proven useful but have their shortcomings. Recent years have seen a surge of interest in the “B corporation” (also referred to as the “benefit” or “flexible purpose” corporation), which is a for-profit corporation that includes in its decision-making processes considerations of society, social justice, and/or the environment.
Michael D. Allen will act as a faculty member during this CLE program on B Corporations to help attendees better understand these trend-setting, emerging corporate forms.
