Overview
Prior to practicing law, Matthew Kent was an award-winning serviceman in the United States Air Force.
Matthew focuses his practice on the formation and administration of Delaware statutory trusts in connection with asset securitization, debt restructuring, and investment fund liquidation. Matthew also advices financial institutions and trust companies acting as owner trustees, custodians, and in other capacities in complex financial transactions.
Prior to law school, Matthew served six years in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces member. He was selected to be a Security Forces investigator, graduating first in his class from the Military Police Investigator training program. Specialized training in domestic violence and advanced interviewing techniques led him to be the lead investigator on multiple domestic violence and child abuse investigations. Matthew worked closely with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), primarily regarding narcotics distribution investigations, and was chosen to be an investigator on the Joint Sexual Assault Team, receiving specialized sexual assault investigation training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
In addition to his accomplishments with AFOSI, while serving in the military Matthew earned two Air Force Achievement Medals for deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, as well as the John L. Levitow Award, the highest award for enlisted Professional Military Education.
