Anne Shea Gaza Awarded the Caleb R. Layton III Service Award

WILMINGTON, Delaware – Richards, Layton & Finger counsel Anne Shea Gaza was awarded the Caleb R. Layton III Service Award by the Judges of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware for exemplary service to the Court and the bar of the Court. The award was presented to Gaza by Chief Judge Gregory M. Sleet during the Federal Bar Association annual luncheon on June 17, 2009. The Caleb R. Layton III Service Award is presented to a recipient who personifies the qualities of a federal practitioner through legal acumen, professional decorum and public service.
“The firm is very pleased to see Anne given this award, which reflects the Court’s appreciation for Anne’s many efforts on the Court’s behalf,” said William J. Wade, chair of Richards Layton’s Litigation Department.
Gaza, a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, represents local, national and international clients in complex commercial matters before Delaware state and federal courts. Her varied civil litigation practice includes intellectual property litigation, product liability and toxic tort defense, insurance coverage disputes and complex commercial litigation. A member of the firm’s Hiring and Diversity Committees, she is also a member of the Litigation and Intellectual Property Sections of the American Bar Association and the Litigation and Multicultural Lawyers and Judges Sections of the Delaware State Bar Association. From time to time, Gaza works with Delaware Volunteer Legal Services as a Protection from Abuse Advocate. A former captain in the United States Air Force, Gaza received a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a BA, cum laude, with honors in political science, from Moravian College.
