Richards, Layton & Finger Elects New Directors and Counsel

WILMINGTON, Delaware (July 1, 2024) – Richards, Layton & Finger is pleased to announce that it has elected attorneys Cory D. Kandestin, Daniel E. Kaprow, and Kyle H. Lachmund as directors of the firm, and Christine Dealy Haynes, Zachary D. Kmetz, and Kinsey Lenehan as counsel of the firm, effective July 1.

Cory D. Kandestin is a bankruptcy litigator, handling fraudulent transfer actions, valuation and solvency issues, evidentiary hearings, and appeals. He also has significant experience leading special committee investigations. Cory serves as a pro bono attorney through Delaware’s Office of the Child Advocate, and he has been recognized in Delaware Super Lawyers and as a Delaware Today Top Lawyer. Cory earned a B.A., with distinction, from McGill University and a J.D., Order of the Coif, from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he received the Founder’s Medal for First Honors.
Daniel E. Kaprow litigates corporate control, corporate governance, contractual, and other commercial disputes in the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court. His practice focuses on litigation relating to Delaware business organizations, their contractual rights, and earnout disputes following business combinations. Dan received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he served as an articles editor of the Journal of Business & Technology Law and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers.
Kyle H. Lachmund focuses on complex corporate and commercial litigation, representing clients in Delaware and other jurisdictions in disputes involving breach of fiduciary duty, appraisal, corporate control, contested mergers and acquisitions, derivative lawsuits, breach of contract, and other matters. Prior to joining Richards Layton, Kyle clerked for the Honorable Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster in the Delaware Court of Chancery. He has twice been named in Delaware Super Lawyers. Kyle earned a B.A. from the University of Oregon and a J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from New York University School of Law.
Christine Dealy Haynes focuses her practice on commercial, intellectual property, and fiduciary litigation in the Delaware state and federal courts. She also represents clients in complex arbitration proceedings. Before joining the firm, Christine clerked for the Honorable Richard G. Andrews of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. She is active in the community and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. Christine received an A.B. from Duke University and a J.D. from the College of William & Mary School of Law, where she served as associate articles editor for the William & Mary Law Review.
Zachary D. Kmetz renders advice and legal opinions on a wide range of transactions regarding Delaware limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and general partnerships, including in connection with structured finance transactions, investment funds, and other matters relating to formation, operation, governance, dissolution, and enforceability applicable to alternative entities. Zach holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from the College of William & Mary, an M.B.A. from Villanova School of Business, and an LL.M. and a J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law.
Kinsey Lenehan handles transactional matters relating to Delaware limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and general partnerships, counseling clients regarding formation, operation, governance, dissolution, enforceability, and other matters in connection with these alternative entities. Kinsey was accepted into the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Pathfinders Program and won the program’s Atlas Award. She received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Seton Hill University and a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law, where she was the managing editor of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy.
