Richards, Layton & Finger’s Lisa Schmidt and Doneene Damon Honored in Delaware Business Times

WILMINGTON, Delaware (December 20, 2023) – Richards, Layton & Finger directors Lisa Schmidt and Doneene Damon have been named in the Delaware Business Times inaugural “Delaware 222” list. The list recognizes the state’s most impactful business, nonprofit, and civic leaders across a variety of industries, honoring those who are creating jobs, serving populations in need, or helping to shape the state’s public policy.
Lisa Schmidt is the president of Richards, Layton & Finger, Delaware’s largest law firm. Focusing her practice on corporate litigation, she has successfully litigated numerous corporate control, governance, appraisal, and contractual disputes in the Delaware courts. Lisa also advises corporations, their directors, and special committees on corporate governance and fiduciary duties. She is co-chair of the Federal Securities Institute, a member of the Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Institute, and a senior fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
Doneene Damon, immediate past president of Richards Layton, chairs the firm’s Corporate Trust and Agency Services Group and serves as the firm’s chief diversity director. She focuses her practice on the use of Delaware and New York trusts in a wide range of commercial transactions, and represents banks and trust companies in connection with their trust and agency services under Delaware and New York law. Doneene is the immediate past chair of the board of directors of Christiana Care Health System and serves on numerous boards, including non-profit and for-profit organizations and private and public companies.
