Three Richards, Layton & Finger Directors Represent the Firm at the WGLO 2008 Spring Legal Opinion Seminar

WILMINGTON, Delaware – Three Richards, Layton & Finger directors, Paul M. Altman, James G. Leyden Jr. and William A. Yemc, represented the firm at the Working Group on Legal Opinions (WGLO) 2008 Spring Legal Opinion Seminar. The WGLO, a group within the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, holds seminars twice a year to discuss current issues in the field of legal opinions. This year’s spring seminar was held on Tuesday, June 3 in New York City, at the law offices of Shearman & Sterling.
The WGLO seminar addressed important matters facing opinion practice nationwide, featuring panelists and presenters who were selected based on their expertise in their fields. Altman was chosen for a panel addressing issues that arise in rendering opinions of Delaware LLCs. Chair of Richards, Layton & Finger’s business department and head of the alternative entity group, Altman’s practice involves alternative entities, including partnerships and limited liability companies, with a focus on the formation of private equity investment funds. He is a graduate of Villanova University School of Law.
Leyden, also a graduate of Villanova University School of Law, was selected as a WGLO co-presenter of a discussion concerning pending and recently issued bar reports. Leyden’s practice focuses on a wide variety of transactional matters involving Delaware limited liability companies, limited partnerships, general partnerships, trusts and corporations, and he is actively involved in the organization, structuring and operation of LLCs and partnerships.
Yemc attended the seminar as Richards, Layton & Finger’s representative on the WGLO Law Firm Advisory Board. Co-manager of the firm’s Uniform Commercial Code and general transactions groups, Yemc focuses on a broad range of commercial transactions as well as the formation, structuring and operation of Delaware LLCs, partnerships and trusts. He graduated cum laude from Villanova University School of Law.
